Rock Solid is our new herd sire, purchased out of the Eastern National Simmental Bull Test at the Ohio Bull Test Sale on April 15, 2000 in Belle Valley. Homozygous polled and black, ROCK represents everything you could want in a herd sire. He has a pedigree that has no holes, ideal phenotype, near perfect EPDs and has all the convenience traits. Besides being sired by the immortal 'tenderness trait leader' 600U, he's is a Mindy - just ask any of the top breeders who own one what that can mean! Sunset View Farm produced the reigning Kansas City and Louisville Champion, SVF Breath Taker, from a Mindy daughter. JDJ sold a $20,000 bull in Denver last year out of their Mindy daughter and these are just a couple of the success stories - the list is long. I could go on and on but I think the genetic power of Rock Solid speaks for itself. This is a can't miss young herd sire that is long, deep, very thick and is sure to be an asset to the Simmental breed in the short and long run.
